Thank You God for the sun to warm the earth and for Jesus Your Son the light of the world. We also celebrate the feast of St Lucy this weekend; Lucy meaning the bearer of light in the darkness. On her feast day tradition has it that, the eldest girl in the family wakes early and prepares hot coffee and saffron buns to serve to other members of the family. She is depicted wearing a wreath of candles on her head.
