It's been a weekend of school catch up especially in preparation for a Geography cycle test on Tuesday morning. Pip has regular cycle tests in each of her subjects and they are essentially a recap on the previous few weeks of lessons and a chance for students to encounter working against the clock as in an exam scenario. Pip does however find them quite stressful even in the subjects she is most confident in such as geography, Spanish and STEM. I'm hoping that with regular revision and organisational help things will be easier for her over time. As a result of her health issues she should be allowed extra time and regular rest breaks in her GCSEs which thankfully are two years away.
Working on a revision poster.
The finished result - I forgot to rotate the image so you'll have to tilt your head to read it 😂
Our lovely neighbour and friend was having a clear out and due to health difficulties is no longer able to run the Hedgehog Hospital. As a thank you for Pip helping and being interested in all that it entailed he gifted her his laboratory standard microscope, complete with books, slides and other paraphernalia:

Great poster, Pip! Flora also hates tests. This year, she has to do the official standardized test again, but we can choose an untimed version for her. Veronika also has to do hers, but hers is timed. I think some children are born test takers (like Jonathan) and others are not. Good luck with the tests! And Ben did a marvelous job with all that wood. Do you have any problems with pests in the wood? People here have to buy firewood at certain places because of the Emerald ash borer, an invasive species. Maybe Ben needs his own tool shed. Wouldn't that be easier than reinforcing the floor? And Milton is just too cute! Julius loved warm places, but Kai even more. It is amazing he did not fall off the radiator.
Hi Eva, yes a shed would be useful but alas nowhere to put one! We have my outside room that used to be a billiard, bar and jukebox room for the previous owner, Dave’s engineering shed and a bike/garden shed. I think Ben needs to stop buying tools and I think he has reached his limit 😂. It’s driving lessons next which he is dreading - he’s another one that doesn’t like tests! Regarding wood we are ok (no termites) but we do buy from a reputable source 🙂
How kind of your neighbour to gift you a microscope. I hope Pip's test goes well. Those cat photos are priceless!
Oh, these cat photos were absolutely delightful, Sandra. The last in particular.
I hope the tests go well for everyone--academic, driving, and otherwise! Testing can be so stressful--even when one knows their stuff!
Hi Siobhan, Pip's test went well 😊
Hi Beth, thanks for stopping by I'm glad the spag bol dish has inspired you to make your version at some point this week. Yes, Milton is utterly adorable isn't he?!! ❤️❤️
Too bad about the lack of space for a shed. Maybe he needs to get his own apartment. I hope the driving lessons will go well. You should teach him! You are such an expert driver. Oh, I also meant to say that it is sad that the Hedgehog Hospital closed.
Milton is hilarious!
My heart was in my mouth watching Ben do that! I am scared of sharp or hot electric items!
The microscope is a lovely gift!x
