Six

Dave: What time did you get to bed last night?

Me: The same time my waters broke, six years ago!  Midnight :-)

It has been a very full on happy day and Pip enjoyed every moment from start to finish.

Birthday table waiting for the birthday girl.

Opening cards and presents.

Playing with a magnetic puzzle a present from my mum and dad.

8:35am and x marks the spot!

Cookie Decorating.

Birthday crown making.

Party food: ham and cheese sandwiches, crisps, crackers, pineapple and cheese sticks, mini sausages, hot tomato and chilli soup for the grown ups, fruit jelly and ice cream and mince pies with christmas tea.

Playing the "roll a snowman game" which is very similar to the beetle game  which was popular in the 1940's game.

Playing with the hama beads.

Sparkler fun before bed.

Happy Birthday, San! You created a magical day for her, in the midst of working on Christmas! You're such a wonderful Mum. Pip is a dear, and six is a fabulous age. Enjoy the time and I hope you got a little sleep before Christmas . . but if not there's always afterwards :) I send you a big hug.

Happy birthday, little Pip. Now you are as old as Flora again :). We opened your lovely gift, San. last night. We had the tea for breakfast today and some of the fruitcakes last night. Wonderful! And the game is so cute, but we do not have a picture with Peter wearing the tea cozy. My grandmother always had one of these. There was never a tea pot without one :). We will send our gifts out next week. We wanted to send everything together with our Christmas letters this year to save postage. But the letter is not completely finished. I have just translated it into German and Peter still wants to make a few changes to the English one. We are really late this year with everything and I feel very bad about this, but I am not sure if it could have been any faster. So merry Christmas to you and your whole wonderful family!!

San,

Happy birthday to Pip, and Merry Christmas to you and all your family! The photos are wonderful. I especially love looking at the statue of Mary on your hearth, the birthday crowns and your Christmas tree. Hot tomato and chilli soup sounds delicious! xx
