Congratulations! Did it all go well? It is a very German name! How do you pronounce it in English? There is a saint with this name from the Alsace region. Do you know about her?
Yes it all went well thank God! Dave knew the name was German but we didn’t know about the saint I will have to find out more about her, thank you for sharing ❤️
Oh, this is so exciting and wonderful! Congratulations San! Mary and little sister look perfect together and Dad's smile says it all. She's just adorable and did you make her pretty little hat? Please give our love and congrats to Mama xoxo So glad all went well!
So how do you pronounce it in English? St. Ottilie (or Odilia) died in 720. She is the patroness of good eyesight. Jakob Streit wrote a book on her, called "Saint Odelia: Through Darkness into Light." It is very touching, we have it in German.
Interesting! The German pronunciation is different, is has a "j" sound at the end. When you go here, and scroll down to
" Wie spricht man Ottilie aus? Aussprache von Ottilie: Die folgenden Hörbeispiele zeigen dir, wie Ottilie auf Deutsch und anderen Sprachen richtig ausgesprochen und betont wird. Klicke einfach auf eine Sprache, um dir die korrekte Aussprache und Betonung anzuhören.

you will get a German (Deutsch) and English (Englisch) pronunciation.
What a beautiful baby with an equally beautiful name. Many congratulations to all your family San. We have read the Saint Odelia book that Eva mentions, I think it was one I found on a website where there are many Waldorf e-books you can download for free. If you want a link let me know.

The hat was a hospital one. Mary is super happy about being a big sister ❤️

Hmm we’ve been saying Ot-ily (the y making an ee sound). Will have to see if I can get hold of the book. Her feast day is the 13th December ❤️
