In the past few months both Pip and I have been busy with all sorts of projects. I've spent quite a bit of time in my outside work room and made a selection of placemats, aprons and bunting for friends. I've also been busy making bunting to sell in my folksy shop which will be resurrected over the next week or so 😊.
A Woodland Christmas.
Shades of Green.
Red, gold and green.
Pip has been busy at her desk creating all sorts of funky images ❤️. She has a distinctive design and either devises her own designs or tweaks a standard image with her own interpretation 😊
Pip's friend Anna from Interhigh.
During the same trip where we met Eva and family, we also spent the weekend with Anna and her Mum. Sadly we were unable to meet her Dad as he was poorly that weekend.
One of Pip's ace designs ❤️.
I love the whole effect including the clever colour combinations but I think the lace up boots are my favourite part of the whole outfit.
Pip's handmade birthday card for her best friend Beth. She scanned the drawing onto the Moonpig website and was able to type in an individual birthday message using a quote from Albus Dumbledore:
It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow up to be.
Thanks also to a really brilliant book called 'The First 40 Days: The Essential Art of Nourishing The New Mother,' I was able to make a big batch of Gourmand Granola and Postnatal Recovery Stew for Kathryn. The stew was so good that I made some for the family and it was the only thing Ben could eat when he had Flu followed by a throat infection a few weeks ago.
Gourmand Granola made with oats, nuts, seeds, shredded and flaked coconut, cocoa, peanut butter and chocolate chips.
Recovery Stew: carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, leeks, mushrooms, lentils, cashew nuts, turmeric, garlic, ginger, bone broth and one can of coconut milk. I cooked it in the Instant Pot for 18 minutes and the flavours wonderfully mingle.

Pips artwork is amazing
Siobhan 😊
Thank you for your encouraging words ❤️
You and Pip do beautiful work! It's wonderful to see. I love the lace up boots too, and also the expressions. She's very creative, and your fabric prints and the combinations you put together are really lovely.
That stew looks amazing and must taste fabulous. I've been thinking of getting an instant pot for awhile now. I used to have a pressure cooker and a slow cooker, so the instant pot would be a good purchase. I missed a sale at a local chain store during the spring. I'm trying to keep my eyes open for a second sale. I also looked up the book - it does look very good and my library has several copies, though all copies are checked out. It's very popular :)
I spot "my" apron! So nice you get to spend time together creating. Dorina made granola and you did too, what a coincidence! Sorry to hear that Ben was sick. Your projects are all pretty and Pip's work reminds me of those Manga books.
I think she initially used Manga as an inspiration but over time her own style has developed. Thankfully she has never read any of the books - some of the themes are totally inappropriate 🙄
The instant pot has been a real game changer, I do hope you manage to find one in the sales 🙂. The book is brilliant, you would love some of the recipes x
Wow you have been so busy, your bunting is wonderful, I love the colour combinations. Pip's drawings are amazing, wow, I love them all. She has a real eye and talent.
Oh, I didn't know that about the books.I have never looked inside.
So much creativity included here! The drawings are so bold and colorful--very nice. I am a sucker for buntings!! What do you use for the cord/string at the top, might I ask? I'm still not sold on the things I've tried. That soup looks delish. I never expected it--because I'm usually pretty low tech--but I am a big fan of the Instant Pot...and the Vitamix...and the air fryer! Ha! Maybe because I am, in general, just a big fan of FOOD! :)
Hi Beth, I use bunting tape also known as webbing, I think mine was 2 1/2” wide 🙂. Thanks for stopping by xx
