All Good

MaryGrace has made a really good recovery and has been discharged from the burns unit for the time being.  Kath has all the necessary items to maintain the healing process and apart from an upcoming Physio session on Monday, there are no further visits to Manchester for the time being.

As with the end of every home school year we have limped along to the finish line but have managed to keep things going despite the craziness of a pandemic and the usual life hassles at this end.  In between the desk work both kids have been involved in practical projects and have gained a lot of new knowledge and extra skills in the process.

Making a clay pot from the Stone Age history book

The clay dried quicker than expected and the end result was not as good as hoped for!

 Not too bad end result!

Hello San, lots of good work going on by you! I can't wait to see what you plant, and Ben did a great job with the new mail box. Pip's science experiment looks very interesting! We're so glad to hear that Mary Grace is healing well. Kathryn must be relieved xoxo

Thank you for your lovely comment. I am sorry to hear it has been a hard week. Sending you hugs.
Your raised bed looks great! You have such practical, helpful children- look at Ben doing all that! What WAS Pip making in that experiment? Most intriguing!
Hoping that Mary Clare will be ok.x

What brand of clay did you use? I have found that some are better than others. It also helps to have a wet cloth handy to cover your project when you take a break. The real Stone Age people probably also had to deal with things like the wrong kind of clay :).

Great to have such a talented son! You should be happy that he managed to complete this project.

What are you going to plant?

How long is your summer break?

P.S. That online science guy looks like a former German student of mine. Peter also has had him in class. He is going to marry some young lady from my German class!

I am so glad to hear that Mary Grace is doing ok and that she has been discharged from hospital. I do hope she continues to have a good recovery. These past few weeks must have been such a worry for you.

It looks like your home learning has been moving on at a good pace, that air drying clay can be a nuisance can't it, I have found that you can add water to it if it gets like that, I am guessing it was an old opened packet? Even though they say you can seal it and use the rest at another time it is not quite the same is it, rather annoying!

The letter box and raised bed are looking really good, interested to hear what you will be planting in your bed.
