Summer Solstice

We had breakfast in the garden, travelled to see Mum H and Pip spent the day learning how to sew a face mask, we finally arrived home at midnight!  It was a long day :-)

Yummy overnight oats with raspberries, almonds and yogurt.

"Say Cheese!"

Romano Cherry Tomatoes.

In Mum's sewing room.

Practising using the rotary cutter on an old sheet.

Cutting out the mask shape, I think Wilbur was tired after all the travelling so he fell asleep on the sewing table!

Practising sewing straight lines.

Enjoying a welcome sit down, I'd been up since five with an awful headache, thankfully it had eased by the time we set off at ten.

Sewing the fabric pieces.

Mum treated us all to a lovely gluten free fish and chip supper (that was delivered to the door) and here is another bonkers family selfie to prove we woz there!

The finished mask.  Pip had some help with sewing the curved sections and top stitching around the pipe cleaner shaping on the nose bridge.  She enjoyed her sewing session and there'll be plenty of opportunity to practice for Dave and Ben could do with a mask of their own.

Such useful skills to be learning. My sewing machine is little more basic than that one looks to be. It looks like a long but happy day xx

Sounds like a lovely (but tiring) day :)

Glad your headache went and you could enjoy your visiting. I know how debilitating headaches can be. xx

What a wonderful picture of you and Dave! Is this Pip's first time with the sewing machine? She did a wonderful job. Happy Solstice! We tried to see a sunrise at Stonehenge, but it was too cloudy.

That is an excellent mask. Bravo Pip! I love the pattern too. And I love the selfie dinner pic. How nice to be able to visit your mum-in-law. She has a nice sewing machine. Do all of you enjoy malt vinegar on your fish and chips? Greg was missing it over the weekend when we had a fisherman's platter.

That is the sweetest pic of you and Dave :)

Happy Solstice, San. I'm glad your headache cleared. xoxoxo

She enjoyed using the machine and was pleased with her efforts 🙂

I used to suffer from horrendous migraines and now I tend to have cluster headaches which are a nuisance but preferable to a migraine 🙂

Pip has used my machine many moons ago to upcycle a pair of jeans into a bag but this project was definitely more of a challenge.

Thanks Kezzie for your lovely words 🙂

Yes we all enjoy malt vinegar on fish and chips but I still have to avoid anything with vinegar since being very poorly so I just had salt on mine. My MIL has three sewing machines! I’m having a run of cluster headaches but they are preferable to an all out migraine 🙂
